As Shalini lay unconscious in the hospital bed, the young man who had hit her with his car sat anxiously in the waiting room.

His phone rang, breaking the silence. "Hey Veeraj when are you coming?" his friend asked.

The young man hesitated, unsure of how to respond. "Bro, I've been stuck in a problem. I'll tell you everything later. I think I'll be late."

His friend's voice was laced with concern. "Okay, buddy. I'm waiting."

Just then, a doctor approached the young man. "Excuse me, do you know this woman?" he asked, nodding towards Shalini.

The doctor's expression was skeptical, but he let it slide. "She's out of danger now, but she needs time to regain consciousness."
